We offer both the professional researcher and the casual browser the material and facilities to conduct research on transportation in New England.

Access to the research library and Walker Transportation Collection is $5.00 per hour; access includes a tour of the Cabot House Museum.  Beverly Historical Society members receive free access. Teachers and students receive the first hour free of charge.   Please note that many items in our collections are stored in closed stacks, and require a research fee to access.  We are happy to provide research services.

Research fees, 1 hour minimum (for access to most collections and staff assistance) $15/first hour; $10/ additional
Remote/off hours research, non-member:                                            $25.00 each hour/minimum one hour
Remote/off hours research,member:                                                   $20.00 each hour/minimum one hour

Please discuss your research needs with curators for an estimate of cost.

ALL of our photos are available for reproduction and prints can be made from our thousands of negatives. If no negative is available we can scan and electronically print an image on photo quality paper.   Our present options are:

  •    Darkroom print from existing negative on resin-coated photo paper
  •    Scan from print where no negative exists, and electronic print on photo quality paper
  •    Scan from slide, and electronic print on photo quality paper
